Creating Your Plan of Attract

Red Cello Marketing Has a New Website…

Times are a’changin’; and so is our look. Red Cello Marketing gets a makeover by DNA4Design and a slick, clean, simple layout that humans are gonna go nuts over. Kinda like a dinglehopper. What’s that, you say? A dinglehopper: “Humans use these little babies to straighten their hair out. Just a little twirl here and a yank there and voila. You’ve got an aesthetically pleasing configuration of hair that humans go nuts over.” ~Scuttle, The Little Mermaid.

DNA4Design made the site clean, simple and easy-to-navigate. Ain’t it Purdy?

If you build it, they will come. But if you make it too hard to use, too difficult to find, or too ugly to stay, they’ll give up and go somewhere else. Want a fabulous site? Do a couple of good things and you’ll be golden:

  1. What’s the purpose of your site? Yeah, we know, you just want to get a domain, throw some pictures and words on the web about what you do or offer and be done with it. But if you think it through first, and create a game plan for your site beforehand, you make it more appealing. Appealing is good.
  2. Your site shouldn’t be a scavenger hunt (unless that was your intention). People need to be able to come to your website and find or do what you intended them to find or do. Don’t make it difficult, difficult is bad. Easy is good.
  3. Aggghhh! My eyes! Think of your website like an art canvas. While beauty is subjective, an eyesore is pretty much an eyesore to everybody. Find a site that you think is visually appealing and do your best to emulate aspects of that. Make your site attractive. Attractive is good.
  4. While an attractive easy-to-navigate site may be queen, content is king. Your site needs to speak to people and capture their interest as soon as they step foot on your html doorstep. You also want to increase the odds of people who don’t know about you, finding you. It’s called search engine optimization or SEO. While there’s quite a few things you can do to increase your SEO ranking, putting content on your site that naturally includes the words and phrases (called keywords, and keyphrases) people are using to find the type of products and/or services you offer will help your efforts a ton. So write good content.

Do you have a dinglehopper of a site you want to shamelessly promote…er share? Leave a link and a few words about why you’re awesome in the comments below. It’s OK to brag sometimes. Bragging sometimes is good, and it can be a beneficial part of creating your plan of attract if you use it appropriately.
